Dr. Bendago obtained his MD (With Honours) from the Al-Fateh University in Tripoli, Libya in 1981 and worked as a General Surgery Resident for 4 years before moving to Canada.

He was trained as a Plastic Surgeon in Canada and obtained hisCertificate in Plastic Surgery from the Canadian Royal College of Physician and Surgeons in 1996. He practiced in Saskatchewan for 4 years before as an assistant professor at the University of Saskatchewan before moving to Toronto.

He was the Division Head of Plastic Surgery (2004-2010) and President of the Medical Staff Society at the Rouge Valley Health System in Scarborough. He was a member of the Board of the Specialist Coalition of Ontario.

His practice encompasses cosmetic surgery plastic surgery, laser treatment, and hand surgery among others.
